【いももち】IMO- MOCHI~Potato mochi~Japanese cooking

Описание: Imo-mochi is a local Japanese dish made by baking mashed potatoes and seasoning them with a sweet sauce.
Today we will show you how to make Imo-mochi in Hokkaido style.
It is very tasty and is a family favourite.

Ingredients for IMO MOCHI 【Serves:2~3 】
Cooking time about 30 mins
□400g potatoes (mashed)
□1,1/2 Water
□40g Potato starch or cornstarch
□2tbsp Any milk or Water
□2tbsp Olive oil or Butter
□50g Camembert cheese, to taste
□Nori seaweed as topping

＜Source＞
□4tbsp Sugar
□2tbsp Soy sauce
□3tbsp Water
□1tbsp Potato starch or cornstarch

1) Peel the potatoes and cut them into pieces about 1cm thick.
2)Wash with water.
3)Add 1.5 tablespoons of water and warm in the microwave for 8 minutes or until a skewer goes through.
4) Cut the Camembert cheese into 8 equal pieces.
Mash the potatoes with a masher.
6) once it’s cooled off, add 40g of potato starch and milk and mix until combined.
7) Shape the mixture into 8 equal pieces.
8) Wrap the Camembert cheese inside the mashed potatoes.
Make the sauce. Mix until there are no lumps.
(4 tbsp sugar, 2 tbsp soy sauce, 3 tbsp water, 1 tbsp potato starch)
10) Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to a frying pan set over medium heat.
11)Cook until browned on both sides.
12)Add the sauce and turn off the heat when it starts to thicken.
13)Serve topped with nori seaweed, if desired.
