Every year more than 55,000 Malaysians require palliative care at the end of their lives. Of this, more than 50% suffer from non-cancer illnesses.
The short film 'I Wish I Had Cancer' focuses on how palliative care helps improve quality of life by alleviating distress and suffering, differentiating between those who have access and those who may not.
This film premiered at the Voices for Hospices Gala Dinner at The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur on 27 October 2017, in conjunction with World Hospices and Palliative Care Day. The theme this year is "LET US NOT LEAVE ANYONE SUFFERING BEHIND".
'I Wish I Had Cancer' was produced by Hospis Malaysia in support of palliative care development in Malaysia
