Force Fetch Tutorial for JGHV Dog Owners - Day 15 with Deutsch Drahthaar

Training Session Summary: For today’s training, we head back into the house simply because I got home so late from work/basketball. There is benefit to training in the house in that we could still add a few new objects to retrieve and work on one particular command (“back”) that has been challenging for Liesel. We start off by introducing Liesel to retrieving antlers. While antlers are not used in the JGHV testing system, I like to incorporate them into my force fetch program because I consider it desirable for my dogs to retrieve sheds while hunting. I also took this opportunity to introduce Liesel to another new species of thawed game, a pigeon. Liesel was able to complete lined retrieves and backs on the antlers and pigeon. We ended the training session by playing hide and seek with the pigeon. Tomorrow, we will head back outside.
