Well, in this video you get to find out. Fishing for Carp with conventional Coarse Fishing Tackle in mid-winter with temperatures hovering around 1'C and an east wind is difficult as it is, but using Fly Fishing tackle?

I head to Haughton Grange, near the village of Llandrinio, Powys, Wales in the Severn and Vyrnwy Valleys to target specimen Carp that go to over 30lb. The pool is quite small, its basically a pond in the Farm Yard buts its been well looked after, there are plenty of fish and this time of year I normally get it to myself. Its also only 10 minutes away. The last week as I write has made for a difficult situation regarding the weather and therefore planning a session. We have had almost constant rain and a driving east wind with occasional sleet. Its bad even for Rainbow Trout fishing and I'm not a fan of driving for over an hour to a fishery and spending £30 on a ticket to fish a lake at its lowest ebb and freeze. So it is out of pure pig headedness I attempted this session.

In the session I showcase the methods and tactics I have learned so far, with my latest version of the Dog Kibble Fly and loosefeeding. I do mention fishing without loosefeed but unfortunately I do not get a chance to do it due to the weather, but I do show you which patterns work. I also describe the tackle needed which I will leave in the description below this. This video is also the debut of my latest addition to the filming equipment which should make for a much more pleasurable experience having used cheap action cameras in the past. I have used to film the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro and paired it with a DJI Mini Mic. You guys can see more in better HD detail and the audio has no wind noise and is better overall. I have been happy with the results, so I hope you guys are too.
