After the war, Sabena resumed operating a network of scheduled services within Europe. The fleet initially consisted mainly of Douglas DC-3s.
After check-in at the Sabena city terminal at the Schaerbeek Gate in Brussels, passengers were taken by the Sabena shuttle to the airport in Melsbroek.
The building, designed by the architects Polak, served until the Sabena Air Terminus at the central station came into use.
In 1953 the wooden terminus was donated to the Sabena sports and recreation club which partly rebuilt it on Melsbroek territory. In 2005 the operator had to leave the site. The building was demolished.
