A key focus is the nervous system and our “Window of Tolerance,” the zone where we can stay present, think clearly, and manage emotions; trauma and chronic stress can shrink this window and push us into survival states like fight, flight, or freeze. Grounding and mindfulness practices—such as breathing, movement, sensory awareness, sound, or self-touch—help regulate the nervous system, expand our capacity to handle stress, and support long-term healing.
