The Sierra XR4x4 and a Graveyard Too Big to Ignore | IMSTOKZE

Описание: I recently came across a car graveyard on a scale that is hard to process while you are standing in it. Not because of one hero car. Not because of rarity. But because of the sheer volume of vehicles left to decay. Cars everywhere. Layered into the land. Some still recognisable. Others reduced to nothing more than rusted shapes and collapsed panels.

This location holds vehicles in every stage of deterioration. A Mk1 Ford Cortina that has completely lost its structure and identity. A Volkswagen T2 that has collapsed back into the ground it sits on. A white Sierra XR4x4 vandalised and stripped until what remains barely resembles what it once was.

And then there is the rest. Austin Maxis. Austin Princesses. Multiple Transporters. Commer vans. BMW E30s. Peugeots scattered throughout including 309s 405s and what appears to be a 404 buried deeper in the site. Fords. Vauxhalls. British and European cars side by side all meeting the same fate.

This is not a place you walk around quickly. It slows you down. It forces you to look properly. To notice details. To recognise shapes. To realise just how much everyday motoring history is being lost quietly and without ceremony.

Even though this location has clearly been visited by others over the years this was my first time here and it is one that will stay with me. Not because it was exciting. But because it was overwhelming. Too many cars. Too many stories. Too much left behind.

Places like this are uncomfortable to document but they matter. Because once they are gone they are gone forever.
