We started the night with classic cocktails, a Caipirinha and Mojito, both strong, refreshing, and setting the tone for the evening. For starters, we tried the Portobello mushroom stuffed with cheese and sun-dried tomato (delicious!) and shared fried prawns in piri-piri sauce, full of authentic Algarve flavours.

To drink, we ordered their signature Rosé Sangria, made with the restaurant’s own brand of rosé wine, Sue’s favourite! For mains, we shared two of their famous stews:

Veal stew cooked in red wine, port, herbs, and topped with feta cheese.

Beef stew slow-cooked in red wine and brandy, with celery and potatoes in a garlic onion dressing.

Both dishes were rich, hearty, and perfect examples of why the House of Stews Albufeira is so popular.

For dessert, we couldn’t resist the Baileys ice cream topped with whipped cream, the perfect sweet ending. The food, service, and atmosphere were all fantastic, and considering the quality, the House of Stews prices are very reasonable compared to other restaurants in Albufeira.
