In this 1954 Famous Studios short directed by Seymour Kneitel, Popeye lovingly tends to his spinach sprouts, treating them like babies with diapers and bottles. However, his peaceful gardening is disrupted when a mischievous gopher begins stealing the young plants. Popeye's attempts to thwart the gopher lead to a series of comedic mishaps, including being nailed to a shed and nearly drowning his own garden. The conflict escalates until Popeye confronts the gopher with a shotgun, only to have a change of heart when the gopher bravely faces him. Their newfound friendship is tested when a raging bull appears, but the gopher consumes a spinach sprout and heroically saves Popeye, leading to a heartwarming conclusion where they replant the garden together.
