This is Ranma 1/2: Chougi Rambu Hen on Super Nintendo. This was the 3rd game using a 1-on-1 format (surfing the Street Fighter 2 craze) based on the popular series that was released in 1994 on SNES. It was only released in Japan.
A real shame as this is by far the best of the fighting games based on the popular franchise that was released for Nintendo's 16-bit system. Colourful graphics, more animation, smoother gameplay, tighter controls, more gameplay mechanics including more moves & super Moves & just a good time all round.
It has 12 playable characters (plus you can unlock Herb - the final boss - see my other video) and also has a rather innovative Tag mode. I think it was one of the first games to feature choosing two characters that you can swap between during gameplay by pressing the Select button. See this is action in one of my other videos
It's based on the the popular Japanese Manga & features Ranma who is cursed so is male when in contact with warm water and female when in contact with cold water. Another character is an old man that turns into a Panda!
This is my original cart from late in the SNES era that I picked up back in the day. I finally got it after mistakenly picking up the RPG game thinking it was this one.
I'm also sorting my loft and finding all sorts of obscurities, oddities and nice games from my collection so I'll be doing some random vids. Let me know if there is a console or game you'd like to see. Let me know if there are any games or consoles you'd like videos about. Let me know if you like the format (i.e. no voiceover and the addition of short facts). Want End Cards added to point out other similar videos? I'm just trying things really.
As always the game cart is played on original hardware - no emulation etc This is played on my Super Nintendo. Captured through a Retrotink 5x purely for ease of capture.
As always if you enjoy this video let me know.
As always this is uploaded under the Fair Use Policy - no money is being made from this video.
