Tour of Mycenae and the Tomb of Agamemnon in Ancient Greece: Mycenaean Culture from Homer’s Iliad

Описание: Thank you for watching our tour of Mycenae travel vlog. Mycenean Culture was the fabled ancient Greek civilization that inspired the story of the Trojan War in Homer’s the Iliad. Our tour of Ancient Mycenae includes the supposed Tomb of Agamemnon or Treasury of Atrius, which is an extremely well-preserved circular grave shaft called a tholos, as well as the “Death Mask of Agamemnon” which dates to 300 years prior to the hypothetical date of the Trojan War.

The mask and most of the Mycenaean grave sites actually date back to the Ancient Greek Perseid Dynasty ( 16th Century BCE ) which was founded by Perseus, a grandson of Zeus. This travel video documents our tour of Mycenae including the Mycenae Museum, the Treasury of Atrius, the Loins gate, the Cyclopean Gate, and the other structure built on this beautiful hillside on the Lower Peloponnesian Peninsula. The Site is one of many UNESCO World Heritage Sites that we visited on our Greece Road Trip.
