Raw footage, no commentary... captured at around 0100 AM on hardwood floors.
Several key things to note about this video:
° This is a more accurate capture of the ambient environment that I play in... 2 large workshop/industrial fans running in the background, combined with Simucube 2 Pro's vibrations and quiet bleeps, the Simsonns shifter noise and my #Buttkicker Gamer Pro.
° Gear shifts are missed a few times in this video; that is 100% my fault and not the device. I did my work communicate this day on my Aprilia RSV4 (and shifting is sublime on these bikes). Having returned home by motorcycle, a quick shower and then immediately firing up the sim... my head was still in that fraction-of-a-second engagement of finger-clutch-foot-shift reflex processing mode. Although in the moment of sim-driving, I was convinced the shifter was at fault (ie gamer rage denial).
° This was also the first time I took the KTM Xbow out for a spin in RaceRoom.
Much of the mechanical sound is dampened out by the air flow from the fans in the room. The Buttkicker, however, still cuts through all of that.
At 05:57 - GEAR LOSS
In the moment, I was thinking "WTF is wrong with this thing!?!" But you will notice that my hand pushes forward, ever so briefly... barely millimetres. On a large enough screen you can see me do it. So it is very interesting to keep this in mind if you are considering this cheap shifter as an addition to your rig. That tiny amount of movement was enough to disengage a gear slot, and since I did not have the clutch depressed, I was dumped to neutral.
Also, you can still hear friction squeaks while shifting despite the background noise. Sometimes, you can see that I kind of struggle to get through the H pattern. That is because of the plastic/perspex-acrylic H plate. It is a raw plastic edge that the shifter stem is sliding against. That means zero lubrication or guidance. This thing is just grinding metal against plastic/perspex, and sometimes you can get yourself caught on the H pattern teeth when you start getting a little enthusiastic. A higher end metal face plate with bevelled edges would have solved this problem... but you get what you pay for here; a bargain, not perfection.
