Located on the sunny southwest coast of Tenerife within the municipality of Adeje, Callao Salvaje is a tranquil, residential resort that serves as a peaceful alternative to the high-energy hubs of Playa de las Américas and Los Cristianos. Originally a small village, it has developed into a self-contained community popular with families and independent travelers seeking a slower pace. The town is characterized by its mix of modern villa developments, budget-friendly apartments, and a welcoming atmosphere shaped by a diverse population of local residents and international expats.

The focal point of the resort is Playa de Ajabo, a beautiful horseshoe-shaped beach featuring the volcanic black sand and fine shingle typical of the Canary Islands. The beach is well-maintained with breakwaters that ensure calm swimming conditions, making it particularly safe for families. Visitors can enjoy a well-regarded beach bar and restaurant, Sansibar Ajabo, which is built into the tiered cliffs overlooking the Atlantic.
