SUMMARY https://archive.org/download/a11ynyc0...
Tom Kamber, executive director of Older Adults Technology Services (OATS) from AARP, will discuss digital participation by older adults in America, including barriers to adoption and inclusion, and what is being done by OATS and others to close the gap. He will discuss the current landscape for promoting digital inclusion for older adults. His talk will be followed by a Q&A.
Older Adults Technology Services (OATS) from AARP is an award-winning social impact organization with a mission to “harness the power of technology to change the way we age.” Founded in 2004, OATS is dedicated to helping older adults thrive in the digital world through free technology programs, community training, and strategic engagements. Through its flagship program, Senior Planet from AARP, OATS works closely with older adults to create extraordinary experiences in-person and online.
OATS has been working for 20 years to close the digital divide for older adults and has a deep understanding of both aging and technology. Tom Kamber will discuss proven, innovative solutions to close the gap. Attendees will:
Understand the importance of digital connection for older adults
Gain insights into successful strategies and best practices for helping older adults navigate the digital landscape
Understand the importance of partnerships and capacity building
There will be time for your questions.
