The date of this chase was September 13th, 2024. This video is dedicated to showcasing Amtrak's "Southwest Chief", (trains #3 and #4) and the endangered Semaphore Signals on the BNSF Raton Subdivision. Only three sets of the signals remain and two of the three are shown in this video. I hope you enjoy!
1. WB Amtrak #3 "Southwest Chief" - East of Delhi, CO (with train and dispatcher radio communication)
2. Model, CO
3. Trinidad, CO
4. Raton Pass, CO (Colorado Side)
5. Arriving Raton, NM (the wind was so bad that it knocked my tripod over! Barely had enough time to set it back up to catch the train under the overpass)
6. Wagon Mound, NM (one of the last three active Semaphore Signals in the entire United States on a Class 1 Railroad)
7. EB Amtrak #4 "Southwest Chief" - (second set of the last three Semaphore Signals between Levy and Wagon Mound)
8. Maxwell, CO
9. Departing Raton, NM
10. Raton Pass, CO (Colorado Side, just east of the CO / NM state line

Welcome to Trains 5.9!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy the video.
I generally film trains on the Union Pacific / BNSF Joint Line in Colorado, but I also travel farther south to catch trains on the BNSF Southern Transcon in Texas and Arizona, as well as the Union Pacific Sunset Route.
Thanks again!
