Wasn’t that the only proof I needed?

Beauty, on the other hand, has never left.

I can’t deny the beauty in anything—not when I look closely enough. Down to atomic structure. Down to silence itself. The depth of beauty I experience has never depended on permission, belief, or instruction. No one taught me how to see it.

The world has certainly tried to tell me what is beautiful—and sometimes I even agree. But the choice to behold beauty has always been mine.

Yes, I’ve lived a life of first-world comfort. I don’t pretend otherwise. But I’ve also listened to those who have known unimaginable suffering. Corrie ten Boom wrote of finding beauty and grace in fleas—fleas—in a place designed to erase humanity. Mother Teresa saw beauty in the leper, the destitute, the forgotten—those deemed so vile and so outcast by society that they were often left covered in their own filth.

When I replace the word love with beauty, the present moment opens.

Because even in the deepest void, there is beauty in stillness.
Even in silence, something luminous remains.

This song isn’t a conclusion.
It’s a recognition.

Beauty doesn’t have to cost anything.
It can be perceived anywhere.

And beauty…
