This song was written on the eve of my birthday, coming home from a long, delayed travel day with my family.
Everyone was tired. I should have been sleeping. Instead, I found myself staring at the clock, watching the seconds pass and realizing my 30’s were quietly ending.
There was no crisis.
Just awareness.
The same presence that has been with me for as long as I can remember.
The awareness that made me feel older and wiser than my years when I was young… and now makes me feel younger than my body suggests I am.
While decades pass and my cellular makeup changes, something steady remains.
Patient. Whole. Spacious.
My Immortal is a reflection on that continuity —
the soul that stayed through the good and the ugly,
through fading dreams and new symphonies,
through wounds, courage, and everything in between.
This song is both a gratitude letter to the life already lived
and a celebration of what is still unfolding of the human experience.
The body moves through time.
The Immortal does not.
