we decided to take a trip around Istanbul and spend a day in the city’s incredible nature. Today is a public holiday in Turkey. In celebration of Eid al-Fitr, there are three official holidays and nine unofficial holidays in Turkey.

We drove towards the E80 highway to cross the Bosphorus Strait via the Second Bridge and enter the Asian side. The first event of the day was traffic! Our destination was supposed to be about 1.5 hours away, but we ended up spending around 2.5 hours on the road.

After passing in front of Vadistanbul and Rams Park Stadium, we headed toward the bridge. Once we crossed the Bosphorus, we continued toward the Beykoz district. On the way, we decided to visit the beach—and what better place than one where we could also capture some footage of the Third Bridge?

The beach and sea were clean, and the water was incredibly inviting for swimming, but the weather was too cold. We took a short walk along the shore and enjoyed the fresh early spring air of Istanbul.

Our final destination was supposed to be Polonezköy, but our travel companions had sent the wrong location, and we ended up with no place to sit! 😂😂

I checked the map and found a picnic spot about 10 minutes away by car. We headed there, and it turned out to be a very clean and beautiful place. They rent out tables and barbecue grills and also have restroom facilities and other amenities. I’ll share the location link below for you.

The road leading there was stunning, lush green, and full of blossoming trees, making the drive even more beautiful.
