I planned to run Ben Chonzie, but Scottish winter had other ideas. Here is why I made the decision to turn back at the car park.
I was expecting 40mph winds as per the mountain forecast but there was no snow predicted and it is was supposed to be clear skies. But the reality when I reached the start of the walk was very different. I didn't feel adequately prepared for these conditions and hiking safety sometimes means knowing when to turn around.
