In this lecture we examine a nontrivial time-evolution problem---the problem of cyclotron resonance. This involves a precessing spin that has a perpendicular rotating field added in that rotates at the same rate as the precession. The problem is solve by going to the rotating frame. This uses a number of Hadamard lemmas to carry out. The rotating frame has no time-dependence, so it can be solved immediately. We transform back to get the results in the lab frame. We then apply this to a spin-one-half problem and look at the transitions of the state on a single qubit from up to down. The problem is solved exactly.
