Excellent footage of the northbound "Salt-Shaker" from York to P&L Jct. with GP38 No. 50, "The Honker" in the lead, two of the three rebuilt D&H Centuries and No. 51, in the limited phase in which it was still in CR blue. At P&L they run-around the train to head south on their recently-acquired former Chessie-B&O BR&P 3rd Subdivision to interchange at Silver Springs. This is the only footage we have that includes C424m No. 61 which, as you'll see from the tail end of the video, only had a short time to live before its June 20, 1986 destruction at the hands of vandals.
We have a lot of stuff to get through but we're hoping to do a profile piece on the 61 and the other rebuilt C424s (C424m, post) in the coming months.
