🔧 This EveryDay Workshop video explains how to replace the diesel fuel filter and bleed the fuel system on a 2011 Volvo XC60 D3. The procedure should be the same or similar on 2008 - 2016 models.

The procedure should be the similar on most diesel Volvos of this era.

Please note: If don’t use ramps, but instead Jack up the vehicle the suspension will drop restricting removal of the filter Bowl. (Kindly pointed out by Peegee in the comments)

Tools and parts required:

1 - 32 mm ring spanner or socket for fuel filter housing2 -17 mm ring spanner for the fuel drain
2 - Torque wrench (recommended if you are unsure tightening the housing)
3 - Container to hold the old fuel within the filter
4 - Hose to connect to the fuel filter drain (not completely necessary but it will reduce the mess)
5 - New fuel filter (new seal will be included with the new filter)
6 - Means to raise the vehicle safely, allowing access. ie Ramps - Jack - Axle stands
