Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) is the contemporary, standardized form of Arabic used across the Arab world in formal contexts, such as news media, literature, education, and government. Rooted in Classical Arabic—the language of the Quran and early Islamic texts—MSA preserves much of the structure and vocabulary of its classical predecessor while integrating some modern vocabulary to accommodate current concepts and technologies. Although MSA is taught in schools and widely understood across Arabic-speaking countries, it is not typically used in everyday conversation, where regional dialects take precedence. Instead, MSA functions as a unifying language for written communication, public speeches, and formal discourse, providing a standardized form of Arabic that bridges the linguistic diversity within the Arab world.

The Central Atlas Tamazight language, which encompasses various dialects from the Atlas region. It's widely understood by Atlasians across the region, from north to south. The dialects include those of the Znati people in the north, like Saghruchni and Warayni, and those of the Znagi people in the middle and south, such as Asamri, Zayani, Azmuri, Mlali, and Zilali. Central Atlas Tamazight is comprehensible to Riffians in northern Morocco and Chleuhs in southern Morocco. In 2011, it became standardized alongside Shilha and Riffian as part of Standard Moroccan Amazigh. The language is spoken by 4-6 million people, primarily in Morocco, though there are Atlas minorities in western Algeria.
