Pitlochry to Rannoch Station - ( Day 6 ). River Gaur to Rannoch Station.

Описание: After pitching up by the side of the road near the River Gaur I hiked through the hills and down to Rannoch and Rannoch Station.

After having an amazing breakfast and chatting with the Staff in the Tearoom, I waited in the Visitor's Room then had a walk round the station before jumping on the train to Fort William. After buying a sleeping bag from Sports Direct I headed up the glen to the Glen Nevis Caravan & Camping Site.

....The next day I had to walk back to town to get a refund on the new sleeping bag as the zip broke straight away, and then went to Mountain Warehouse for an even better sleeping bag. Had to buy a new burner for my Campingaz bottle too as the one I had died last night. This didn't fit my bottle, so bought a Campingaz burner at the Glen Nevis Camp Shop.

Tuesday, I had to return the burner and head to the station to try get South due to the fact that I injured a muscle in my left knee getting out of the tent to head to the showers. Managed to get then 2pm bus to Glasgow, then the 6pm train from Glasgow to Edinburgh, and then the 7.16pm train to Peterborough for 00:05.

Now planning the next couple of trips for this year already, as well as some other vidoes on my Jacobite kit, and some wee review videos on some new additions to my modern gear

I would have loved to have done the Great Glen Way again and atended the 277th Anniversary of Culloden, but due to the injured knee this was not possible, so planning to redo those asap as well.

I initially intended to do the walk from Pitlochry to Rannoch Station, so I managed that, and enjoyed it very much. It's a great walk. I have met some brilliant people and seen some amazing sights, as well as been able to wild camp in some new spots , and also get my head back to 'normal' again, and that is so worth it in itself. It is great to look in a mirror and see 'me' looking back, not some zombie guy. If you feel low, folks.....go for a long walk, it works wonders.
