Day 6 on the Camino de Santiago – Via Podiensis brought a change of plans and a shorter walk, traveling 16 km from Nasbinals to Saint-Chély-d’Aubrac. As the Camino begins to leave the wide-open Aubrac Plateau, the landscape slowly transitions toward the Lot and the Vallée du Célé.
After adjusting my plan for the day, I enjoyed lunch along the way—including a great tart—before continuing off the plateau where Aubrac cattle graze freely during the summer months. Along the trail, I met an incredible group of French men from Normandy, sharing conversation, Camino stories, and the simple joy of the walk.
The evening in Saint-Chély-d’Aubrac was a perfect Camino finish: a beer after the hike and another outstanding dinner in town. As I get closer to the Célé Valley, more changes and adjustments are already taking shape.
