You know, with the results sometimes it's like what's the point but I feel like the point is that I have something to say and that I should voice it because if I don't voice it then I have nothing to say."

STORYLINE:
Mississippi voters will choose party nominees for Congress in a state primary Tuesday. The state’s junior Republican U.S. senator and the entire U.S. House delegation are up for reelection. All but one have drawn multiple challengers from one or both major parties hoping to unseat them.
The Associated Press spoke with voters in Jackson, Mississippi, about the issues they care about most as they arrived at the polls.
Selket Myles, a Democratic primary voter who cast ballots for Bennie Thompson and Scott Colom, said affordability is her top concern.
“Food prices are high. I mean, it’s only my husband and me, and it’s unbelievable. I had a sack full of food in the back seat of my car, and it cost double to bring it home,” Myles said.
“Of course, the war and being afraid of what some of the countries are trying to do to us,” said Anann Philley, a Republican primary voter who voted for Cindy Hyde-Smith and Michael Guest.
Voters also spoke about the importance of turning out to vote.
“I have something to say, and I should voice it, because if I don’t voice it, then I have nothing to say,” Myles added.
