“Around 5:30 in the morning, an Israeli airstrike hit our area. We heard the sound of missiles—three missiles were launched near us. At first, we thought the strike was targeting the Jamaa al-Islamiya, or the Islamic Group so we started running in that direction. But we were surprised to find that the strike had actually hit our own street. What happened is that an apartment was targeted, and we don’t know who was living there. We hope that leaders and political parties will refrain from operating in densely populated neighborhoods among unarmed civilians."

STORYLINE:
Lebanon's Health Ministry said an Israeli airstrike on an apartment building in central Beirut early Wednesday wounded four people.
It was not immediately clear who was the target of the strike on an apartment in Beirut's Aicha Bakkar neighborhood as it came without prior warning, officials said.
The strike was the second in central Beirut in less than a week.
Local resident Tariq Issa said he heard the sound of missiles at around 5.30 a.m.
"At first, we thought the strike was targeting the Jamaa al-Islamiya, or the Islamic Group," he told The Associated Press.
"But we were surprised to find that the strike had actually hit our own street. What happened is that an apartment was targeted, and we don’t know who was living there."
The building that was hit is several buildings away from Dar al-Fatwa, the country’s highest Sunni Muslim religious authority.
The strike was in an area far from Beirut’s southern suburbs, where the Israeli military had issued evacuation warnings earlier in the renewed conflict with Hezbollah.
