Kikunoi Roan | Kyoto’s Best Restaurants | 2 Michelin Stars

Описание: One of Kyoto’s best restaurants, the second of Kikunoi Honten where every Japanese gourmet wants to go and experience the ultimate Japanese kaiseki (traditional full course meal) refinement.

I could not go to Kikunoi Honten as they don't accept bookings for one, but Roan is their other greatly appraised restaurant.

Located close to Gion it is a beautiful haven where you can enjoy the best seasonal ingredients.

Here is what was in the starters basket:

Skewer of miso marinated avocado, prawn and tuna pâté
Moutain yam "butterflies", grilled squid zith nori seaweed and egg yolk
Fava beans, octopus, yurine (lily root) petals with salmon roe
Udo stalk petals, tai sushi with kinome (prickly ash leaf)
