In this passage, the apostle Paul continues his prayer for the believers, giving thanks for their faith and love. He asks that God would grant them a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, so that the eyes of their understanding might be enlightened.
Paul desires that they grasp the hope of God’s calling, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and the exceeding greatness of His power toward those who believe.
These verses culminate in a majestic declaration of Christ’s exaltation—raised from the dead, seated at the right hand of God, far above all principality and power. Christ is given as Head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him that filleth all in all.
