Building a Volkswagen 2332 stroker motor from scratch with 94mm pistons and 84mm crankshaft. This is the calculation of deck height for cylinders 3 and 4. I tried barrel shims of 0.09 + 0.06, but that was not enough. Then 0.09 + 0.09 was correct, making the total shim needed 0.18 inches or 4.572 mm.
In the end I ordered 4 barrel spacers that are 4.5mm, and I will use them as-is for the 3/4 side, and sand off 0.25mm on the 1/2 side, for a spacer size of 4.25 on the 1/2 side.
The case is not totally symmetrical.
