Calm Amazon rainforest ambience

Описание: Listen to the calm ambience of the Amazon rainforest on a lazy afternoon.

The sounds of the oropendola are resonating through the airy undergrowth as the sun starts its descent towards the horizon. Gone is the chaotic and lively sound of dawn. The air is still and extremely hot, so most wildlife is taking a break from any activity. The insects keep stridulating away on the morning's momentum, but their heart doesn't seem very much in it.

Soon a Screaming piha joins the half-hearted bird chorus. A few frogs call back and forth and then they all give up. On occasion a water drop or piece of vegetation will fall to the ground, marking the passing of time in a very inexact way. Very rarely a flock of parrots or parakeets will fly by in a loud panic, but that resolves very quickly.

Lazy afternoons in the Amazon rainforest seem forever suspended outside of the passage of time. Visually everything is very still, while the soundscape does not seem to change much. I'm lying in my hammock trying to doze off, but the heat and humidity keep me up. No better thing to do than to empty my brain of any thought and to enjoy the unfolding soundscape.
