For many years I thought this beautiful Christmas song was written by Agnetha Fältskog from ABBA – but it actually goes much further back. “Nu tändas tusen juleljus” (in Danish: “Nu tændes tusind julelys”) was written in 1898 by Swedish composer and poet Emmy Köhler.
My own personal favourite version of this song, was the version that danish singer and actor Kurt Ravn made, it has a beautiful short guitar solo in it as well.
