This is the first of many videos I'm going to be uploading documenting the drum parts from the new Fall In Archaea record 'Aura Magenta'.

My goal with this video series is to keep it as real as possible, IE all live audio, no quantizing, no sample-replacement, no flashy camera tricks. There may be some minor flubs as a result, but hey, I'm only human ;)

This particular song, entitled 'Rosewood', was a favourite of mine from pre-production. It isn't incredibly challenging drum-wise compared to the rest of the album, but it really grooves and is a lot of fun to play.

Notes:
0:52 - 1:00 - Switching between Hi-Hats to complement pitch changes in guitar riff
1:32 - 1:51 - This section is entirely in 4/4, though I tried to imply a few varying time feels, perhaps giving the illusion of a tempo change. It begins with a simple 4 feel, followed by 5 and then 6 over the same guitar rhythm. This transitions to an implied 7 complementing the guitar rhythm of the next section, which I felt flowed pretty naturally from the 6.
