Armchair Detective 1948 Episode number unknown.
This print belonged to a neighbor of H. Allen Smith who lived in the same apartment complex that H. Allen Smith and hid wife lived in. He told me over the years that a young man living next door told him he has two episodes of Armchair Detective. When this man passed away the family gave the film to H. Allen Smith who told me that he only had this one reel. Perhaps he meant that he had one episode with two stories in it. When I went to visit H. Allen Smith he gave me the film, and it is now at the UCLA Film & Television Archives. Keep in mind the copy you are viewing here was made from a NTSC 3/4-inch video master then to DVD, then to digital, so it's three generations away from the film print. But you will notice the quality of picture and sound are excellent!
