Plot:
In Charlie Chan in Shanghai (1935), Detective Charlie Chan travels from Honolulu to Shanghai at the invitation of the U.S. government. His mission: to help break up an international smuggling and drug-trafficking ring.
Shortly after his arrival, a formal welcome banquet is interrupted by a shocking murder—one of Chan’s key contacts is killed before he can pass along vital information. Chan begins a dangerous investigation involving coded messages, double-crosses, and shadowy figures connected to the Shanghai underworld.
As Chan digs deeper, he uncovers a sophisticated criminal operation led by a mastermind who will stop at nothing to protect the network. With help from his loyal son Lee Chan, he pieces together clues that lead to a tense confrontation, exposing the criminals and restoring order.
