The Toyota 2gr-fe 3.5-liter V6 from early production years 2005 to 2009 has a manufacturing defect that could cause the engine to blow up at any time without warning. This issue is the subject of a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) and/or recall from Toyota. If your engine has not received the corrective service, then it is at risk. This video shows how to replace the defective part, which is the Variable Valve Timing - Intelligent (VVT-i) oil line on Bank 1 or the right/rear bank. This issue affects Camry, RAV4, Highlander, Sienna, ES350, RX350, Avalon - all early vehicles with 2GR-FE.
