China’s High-Speed Train Took Me to a Village Frozen in Time

Описание: I honestly didn’t expect this, but Furong is a 2,000-year-old village built right over a waterfall, and walking through it feels like going back in time.

We board a business-class train from Zhangjiajie into rural Hunan and arrive in a Tang Dynasty–era salt and tea trading hub. The village is filled with stone paths, wooden houses, a slower pace of life, and a waterfall flowing through its center.

Along the way, I:
Explore Furong’s ancient streets and cliffside views
