In this video, I am going to break down Sacha Baron Cohen's workout and diet for the incredible physique he achieved for the Marvel series "Iron Heart." Just like I’ve done for every celebrity workout critique that I have done in the past, I am going to remain respectful and proud an unbiased review of Sacha Baron Cohen's workouts and diet. Not only that, I am going to explain how you can implement some of his principles into your training and nutrition so that you can see success as well.

Recently, Sacha Baron Cohen's transformation has been highlighted by Men's Fitness UK magazine as well as other news outlets. They have highlighted Cohen's body transformation showing his body during his role as Borat and what he looks like starring as Mephisto. Unfortunately, not much information has been released about Sacha Baron Cohen's workouts or diet outside of a few snippets into what he was doing to get ready for the role.

The most notable part of the reporting on Sacha Baron Cohen's transformation is that he had 3 weeks to get in shape for the role. With this limited time, was it possible for Cohen to go from Borat to jacked and lean for Mephisto?

What we do know about Sacha Baron Cohen's workouts is that he hired a trainer that Matthew McConaughey and other celebrities have used to get them in shape for a role quickly. This is where Alfonso Moretti comes in. Also known as "The Angry Trainer," Moretti's workouts are HIIT and Tabata style circuits and workouts.

These workouts are great for training in a time crunch, usually last 25 minutes or less. The benefit of these types of workouts is that they not only act as a calorie burner, but they also train your vo2 max, increase your muscular endurance, and insulin resistance. You have to take note, however, that an effective Tabata workout requires high bouts of intensity for short durations. This means that you have to give everything you've got during that bout of time from the get-go instead of ramping up the intensity so there are only a few short seconds of all-out effort.

Moretti knows how to get the most out of these short, but incredibly intense workouts. He has even showcased quite a few of them on his YouTube channel so that non-celebrities can train in the same style that he has his actors and actresses training in. While I don't love all of his exercise selections in his workouts, they are still incredibly effective on the whole. But to go from Borat's body and undergo Sacha Baron Cohen's transformation likely took a lot more than just 3 weeks worth of 25 minute long workouts.

Instead, I think it all comes down to Sacha Baron Cohen's nutrition more than anything.

When it comes to Sacha Baron Cohen's diet, it was reported that he prioritized protein and fibre, while limiting fats, sugars, and starchy carbohydrates. This would likely create a caloric deficit in order to get him leaner and build muscle at the same time. I think this is what is most responsible for Sacha Baron Cohen's transformation

I've always said, you can burn fat and build muscle at the same time and that's exactly what it looks like he did to get ready for the show.

What isn't reported, however, is that Sacha Baron Cohen's body didn't look like it did in Borat when he started training. As a matter of fact, an instagram post from 2019 showed him in curling dumbbells while sporting an in-shape body. He was fairly lean and showing signs of muscularity, which means that his 3 week transformation likely comes down to his nutrition and not his workouts.

Overall, I think that Sacha Baron Cohen's transformation is still impressive has he has definitely increased his muscularity and has gotten much leaner. The Borat body was more along the lines of skinny fat and quite hairy. In his photoshoot, he clearly shaved his body, got a tan, was oiled up, and had favorable lighting which makes the transformation even more impressive than it already is. However, we have to remember that not everything reported is accurate, but I do like Cohen's approach to training and nutrition given the limited time that he had to get ready for the role.
