We took the kids to Huckleberry Fish Farm, for a day in the sun doing some fishing, but found out it’s actually a whole lot more than just fishing... Huckleberry is about a half an hours drive from Cape Town (39km) situated on the R304.

Huckleberry Fish Farm is kid and adult friendly. Huckleberry welcomes everyone to enjoy this incredible “ thing to do” venue in Cape Town. It’s a unique fishing experience for amateurs and beginners and a place where kids can roam free and parents can relax.

The main attraction is of course fishing and they have two smallish dams well stocked with Tilapia fish, which makes it quite easy to get one hooked, even for a beginner with very little to no experience.
You are welcome to bring your own tackle but barbs are not permitted on your hooks, as they work on a catch and release basis.
They have a fishing rod hire service available at the office for R30 per rod and each rod hired comes with a reel, hook, line, sinker, float (all pre-attached) and a bucket of bait. You really don’t need any experience to fish at Huckleberry, additional bait is available for R5 per bucket at the office (Prices correct at time of filming)

This venue boasts with numerous activities to enjoy in one place which includes putt-putt,
pedal go-karts, fishing, zip-lining, watersides, petting zoo, braai facilities and more. You are also welcome to book children’s parties at the venue.
The cost to all the activities available are included in your entry fee of R80 per person (Prices correct at time of filming).

The office has bait, animal feed, cool drinks, sweets, chocolates, wood, a small variety of meat and hot beverages on sale but you are welcome to bring your own.
