Описание: Mr. George O. Odeny is a lecturer in the department of History and Archaeology, University of Nairobi. He is also a PhD student in the same department. He is the author of the following articles:- Some Retrospective reflections on Uganda’s foreign policy during Idi Amin’s regime and The Relevance of History as an Academic Discipline in Contemporary Africa. The main argument of the paper is that the state as the main distributor of desired values is the source of ethnic conflicts in the country. Each ethnic group competes with one another to capture and use the state power to advance its parochial ethnic interest to the exclusion of other competing ethnic groups hence ethnic conflicts in the country.
