We have seen stocks like MerryMart, Altus Property Ventures and other stocks go up massively over the past few days and weeks. What do you do when your stocks are massively up?

When is the best time to take profits? When do you sell? When should you hold on to the stock? Should you sell when news would breakout out? Should you sell when rumours kick in? Should you sell when things get bad? Should sell when you have a gain already?

When is the best time to sell a stock?


This is what we will discuss in the video:

1.Pause and take a step back

You have to pause and take a step back so you do not react to quickly, remember the name of the game is not to respond to your emotions and I have seen a lot of people lose a lot of upside because they sold too fast.

2. revisit your plan? Is this really for trading or investing?

If it is for investing?

3. What should be your rules for selling?

If you are investing, has any of the earlier parameters that you have set been hit? Have the dividends change? did they get more debt? Did they lose money? Did they not hit their targets? Are they expensive?

If you are Trading?

you drill in further, are you a quick trader or a position trader? Because if you are a quick trader, did the stock fail to break a resistance level or did it break a higher support?

While if you are Position Trading, is there any significant reversal in the stock? Please remember if you are a position trader you need to exercises patience when you trade, because, it would be sad if you sell only to see your stock push massively up after?
