The first of 2 Fedders 8,000 BTU window air conditioners model A7Q08F2A-A. These units date back to the early 2000s. They utilize a Matsushita rotary compressor, made in USA, with R-22 refrigerant. The evaporator coil is 5 layers thick. This is a rather unusual design for Fedders, consisting of components outside of what Fedders typically used.
The one downfall with the Fedders units from this era was the fan motor. The motors were not ball bearing, so after a decade or two of reliable operation, the bearings become stiff and require lubrication. I suspect many of these have been discarded for that reason. It's a shame better quality fan motors weren't used, because the refrigeration system itself is fantastic.
This machine belongs to @Kevinsrack, I am temporarily housing it here until he has a use case for it or somewhere to store it. He found the pair at a Savers, the other one is in deep stages of disrepair and was given to me.
