Government hospitals run out of essential supplies

A shortage of drugs, sundries, gloves and other essentials has hit Mbarara and Kawempe government hospitals. According to the Uganda Medical Association, the shortage has lasted for about two months. Doctors are now asking patients to buy drugs from private pharmacies. The ministry of Health attributes the shortage to disruptions in the collapse of the Integrated Management System in the National Medical Stores.
