Sigma in care part 3: in which she goes to Merryn's aviary

Описание: Sigma is a Grey-Headed Flying-Fox who was rescued this morning when she was found trapped on a balcony on the coast. She wasn't a particularly happy girl, pregnant, stressed and scared, but after some fluids, analgesia and some sedative to keep her calmer so she didn't lose her baby from the stress, she settled down and went to be with the mums and babies in Merryn's aviary. The presence of other females with babies is enough to reduce some of the capture stress and reduce her adrenaline so she can feel more secure.
After a night lying down on the sling in the carrier, she went into the aviary where she hung out with the girls, and safely delivered her baby, a little guy named (I think appropriately), Tau.
I will have a few further updates when I find the footage from Merryn's aviary updates.

Tolga Bat Hospital takes donations for our batties. Tolga is an awesome place in Far North Queensland, which has charity status. By sending donations to them, they get a percentage (and deserve every cent) and they can allocate money to me for batty expenses without it becoming part of my income stream (which makes tax time difficult).

The Giving Fund doesn’t charge any fees (so the bats get more money) but PP doesn’t itemise out the amount, they just send a total every month, and we don’t know if the money is for Tolga or for Megabattie.
