Ingredients + Measurements:
☆ 3 + 1/4 Cups of Bread Flour
☆ 2 Teaspoons of Instant Yeast
☆ 1.5 Teaspoons of Salt
☆ 1 + 1/2 Cup of Water
Instructions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread flour, yeast, and salt. Pour in the water and mix together. The dough will look shaggy, but keep mixing it until it looks like dough! Then shape into a ball inside of the bowl as best you can.
2. Keeping your dough ball in the bowl, and cover it, you can use a cloth napkin like I did or plastic wrap. Leave it on the counter at room temperature and allow to rise for 2-3 hours.
3. You can continue onto the next step, but best flavor, I let the risen dough rest in the refrigerator overnight!
4. Lightly dust a surface with flour and put the dough onto it. We’re going to make it into a ball again! Once done, find your baking pan and line it with parchment paper. Put your ball onto your baking pan (this is the pan you will be baking it on) and let it rise for another 45 minutes!
5. About 30 minutes into your 45 minutes, preheat the oven to 475°F.
6. Once the oven has been preheated, use a very sharp knife to cut a shallow X into the top of your bread.
7. Optional recommendation: for a crispier crust: After the oven is preheated and bread is scored, place another pan with water onto the bottom oven rack. And the your unbaked loaf right next to it. The steam from this will create a crispier crust.
8. Bake for 20-25 minutes (depending on how hot your oven gets) until the crust is a golden brown.
9. Remove your now baked loaf from the oven and allow it to cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing and eating! ✨
