So I got to do some hiking "Down Under"! Sherbrooke Forest, part of the Dandenong Ranges and well known for "Puffing Billy", is conveniently accessible from downtown Melbourne, and features captivating, lush forests even in the winter - as well as interesting birds!
Getting here:
Belgrave Station can be reached by direct trains from Flinders Street or Richmond Stations. The trailhead is a kilometer or two away.
