In this video, we continue the PBR texture series with the Opacity Map.
We’ll look at how opacity maps work, how to set them up in Blender, and their advantages and limitations.
I’ll cover when to use opacity maps for glass versus the glass shader, explain IOR and transmission, and show how to handle transparent shadows in Cycles.
You’ll also see how Eevee’s render methods (dithered and blended) differ, and when to use alpha clipping or raytraced transmission.
