Painting 1 of 14 for February! I made another little hybrid speed video, skipping along in short clips and lot quite so fast. Let me know what you think!
This shows my entire process, starting with the drawing!
In case you're curious, I underpaint with acrylic-based pastel primers brushed onto Gatorboard. The gold color is Golden brand Fine Pumice Gel (or Golden brand Pastel Ground) with Golden brand Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold fluid acrylic color added at approximately a 1/5 color/gel ratio. The terra cotta color is Art Spectrum brand multimedia primer.
I draw with a warm-toned pastel pencil before I underpaint the values. Then I pastel over the underpainting.
