Dough:
• 3 cups flour
• 1 tablespoon sugar
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 tablespoon instant yeast
• 3 tablespoons oil
• 1 cup warm water
3 tablespoons of powdered milk
• 1 egg
Tangzhong Method:
Ingredients:
• 2 tablespoons flour
• ½ cup water
(You can substitute milk for the water if you prefer a softer consistency)
Method:
1. Mix the flour and water in a small, cold saucepan.
2. Place over medium heat, stirring constantly.
3. After a few minutes, it will thicken to the consistency of heavy cream or pudding.
4. As soon as you see visible lines on a spoon, remove from the heat.
5. Let it cool completely before adding it to the batter.
