5G@Sentosa, a public-private sector collaboration led by GovTech, Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) and Singtel, serves as a testbed for promising use cases that could be rolled out in the next five years, such as the drone façade inspection by TÜV SÜD and the Building and Construction Authority (BCA).
Since 2022, buildings more than 20 years of age are to be inspected every 7 years under the Periodic Façade Inspection (PFI) regime.
As the building industry leans into digitalisation, 5G drone façade inspection presents limitless potential. TÜV SÜD is excited to be part of the trial initiated by BCA and look forward to the transformation in the building and construction industry.
